12:30pm - Ways of Working | Tippi & The Hackathon Survival Guide
This session, focusing on team dynamics and effective collaboration strategies, primes the participants for the intensive collaborative work that will follow.
12:50pm - Pick an item from each menu.
Each team aligns on an interesting problem from each sponsor that they’d be happy to work on solving over the hackathon. Sponsors are available for quick clarifications
1:00 (30 min) – Problem Research on both items. Write down more detailed problems statements inspired by menu item. Do research on YouTube, Google, Newspapers. Try to understand the User Journey and Pain Points you’re going to solve. Quickly digging into understanding and then coming together to share their insights.
1:30pm - Brainstorming & Design Sprint
David leads this with support from OpenUX. Key point: there are two teams, two menu choices and two work areas. Brainstorming design solutions is about getting ready for their pitches.
2:10 - Create pitches for sponsors. Humancore will entertain two pitches and imnotArt will too, so take 30 minutes to put your best pitch and paper prototype forward.
2:40 - Teams Pitch to Sponsors. 5 minutes maximum including Q&A, each team has prepared an approach and perhaps a paper prototype for each sponsor.
3:00 - Sponsors choice. We flip a die or roll a coin to symbolize chance.
3:05 – Roadmapping, assigning responsibilities. Who what when.
3:20pm-4:00pm - Co-working & Closing “What is expected in the following week reminder”
After the brainstorming, there's a co-working session where teams start to implement their ideas. The day closes with a briefing on what is expected in the following week, ensuring everyone is on the same page regarding deliverables.
